
Nissan’s first Hybrid system will make its debut in the Infinity M35 Hybrid, along with the Infinity Performance Line G Coupe.
Nissan has also announced that its first-in-house Hybrid system, which was shown in the Nissan Fuga Hybrid at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, will also power the 2012 Infinity M35 Hybrid.
The new Hybrid system, which is expected to make its debut at this fall’s LA Auto Show, uses an Atkinson-cycle version of Nissan claims “the power of a V8, with the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder”. However, no power output, or performance details have been released.
In Japan, the Hybrid-powered Nissan-Fuga will go on sale this fall, while the Infinity M Hybrid won’t be available until next year.
Infinity also plans to unveil the new 2011 IPL G Coupe at the LA Auto Show.
In the new Infinity Performance Line, the G Coupé will be the first model, which is powered by a 348-hp version of the 3.7 litre V6, and features a sport-tuned suspension, special wheels, and unique IPL interior and exterior treatments.

Volkswagen has unveiled the sedan version of the Polo hatchback, which will be built at Volkswagen’s factory in Kaluga, Russia.
The Volkswagen Polo sedan will officially be decided to be launched at the Moscow Motor Show in August, and currently the carmaker is planning to market the car in Russia. It has not ruled out selling the Polo sedan in other markets.
The Polo sedan measures to be 4380mm long, 1700mm wide, and 1460mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2550mm, which gives it more cabin and storage space than the hatchback. Ride height has also been increased by 15mm.
Volkswagen has only announced one engine option for the Polo sedan, a 1.6-litre petrol that produces 104bhp and is available with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed Tiptronic sequential shift gearbox.
Among the three trim levels, the available are the Trendline, Comfortline and the top-of-the-range Highline which comes with side airbags and ESP. Standard features on the Polo sedan include a height-adjustable driver’s seat, an onboard computer, immobiliser and power windows, as well as an immobiliser and twin airbags.
