BMW is the preferred limousine of choice for Marina Bay Sands, the upcoming luxurious integrated resort and an exciting new destination for premier exhibitions and conferences.

Comprising 8 units with 16 BMW cars, each of the BMW 740Li and the BMW 520i have been purchased from Performance Motors Limited (PML), dealer of BMW cars and motorcycles. The fleet of BMW cars will form an important part of a seamless and luxurious chauffeur service for the multitude of VIP guests Marina Bay Sands expects to host in the coming months.

The BMW 7 Series and BMW 5 Series have had the honor for being the official car for numerous high-profile government and sporting events such as the APEC Singapore 2009, Barclays Singapore Open, HSBC Women’s Champion and Singapore Airshow 2010, amongst others. And the investment by Marina Bay Sands in BMW for their limousine fleet is another affirmation of the confidence in BMW for prestige, comfort, safety and PML’s comprehensive service support.

Marina Bay Sands has taken delivery of the fleet and PML will also complement this investment by Marina Bay Sands with chauffeur familiarization training. Training for chauffeurs will cover a thorough understanding of the vehicles’ operating and safety features. In addition, soft skills with a focus on driving finesse for the passengers’ comfort and communication skills will also be shared.

In particular, the BMW 740Li, with its innovative comfort and entertainment options, perfectly complements the experience that Marina Bay Sands will deliver to their VIP guests.

Today, the auto-market in Europe and North America seems to be heading towards smaller vehicles despite the trend for luxury cars, but it’s not the case in China. The Chinese people think that the bigger is better and the Germans certainly aren’t going to argue with them. And the scheduled debut of the extended wheelbase BMW 5 Series at the Beijing Auto Show later this month.

The extended wheelbase 5-Series is developed in Germany but set to manufacture in Shenyang, China specifically for the Chinese market.

The wheelbase is 5.5-inches longer than the standard model, giving the 5 Series Li a total length of 198-inches and a wheelbase of 122.4-inches.

BMW will offer the extended wheelbase 5 Series as a 523Li, powered by a 204-hp 2.5-liter inline-six; a 528Li, powered by a 258-hp 3.0-liter inline-six and a range-topping 535Li with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six making 306-hp.
